Key points

Webflow (and no-code in general) is not accessible. This is a fact. Why?

Because 99% of the quality content surrounding this universe is in English. Therefore, it is (almost) impossible for non-English speakers to train themselves in this field.

It is from this observation that Digidop's vision was born: to make the no-code technological lever accessible to the francophone community.

And today, we announce the release of a strategic resource that marks a further step toward fulfilling our vision.

The French version (translated and adapted) of the Client-First V2 documentation.

What is Client-First?

Client-First is a methodology for universally naming CSS classes in Webflow. Launched almost a year ago by Finsweet, the Client-First method has gained widespread popularity in the web development community using Webflow. This success is logical, as the method offers numerous advantages. Client-First allows you to:

  • Have an organized Webflow site and optimize the use of CSS language
  • Achieve a performant site, free from "unnecessary code." The unnecessary accumulation of CSS classes slows down your site's performance
  • Create a site that incorporates all the best web accessibility practices in 2022 (Learn more about web accessibility)
  • Quickly understand the internal structure of your site, thus not depending on your initial developer

And that's not all. There are countless other good reasons to use this methodology. For your information, Client-First is a mandatory development method at Digidop.

Learn more about the reasons that led our agency to the decision to use Client-First for Webflow development.

Why translate Client-First into French?

Digidop is on a mission: to make learning Webflow accessible to the francophone community. Many of you shared your desire to learn more about Client-First with us. (And we encourage you to do so, as we believe Client-First is the most effective method for developing in Webflow).

But.... the documentation is:

  • Dense documentation
  • Available only in English.

Two factors that create obvious entry barriers. As a former participant in the first bootcamp (only 5 people) for Client-First certification, I discussed this issue with Joe Krug. And.... here we are!

Client-First has its French version officially translated by Digidop!

And guess what? This initiative has snowballed. Requests for translation have surged in dozens of countries, and Client-First will now be translated into over twenty different languages this year.

The Client-First development methodology will therefore officially be able to become democratized on a global level.

The authors of the French version of Client-First

The translation was carried out by Thibaut Legrand and myself. We were then assisted for proofreading and ensuring accessible integration into the Webflow CMS. A true team effort.

A thousand thanks to them for what they have done for the francophone Webflow community; it was an enormous task.

How to discover the French version of Client-First?

The documentation is available for free and in full on the official Finsweet website.
