Key points

The debates can be lively: code vs no-code. But is there really a debate? No-code does not replace code. Why? Because code is needed to develop a "no-code" solution. Therefore, I don't see how developers can disappear. However, I believe their profession will change significantly.

My hypothesis is that, in the near future, the best developers will create no-code tools. These tools will be flexible, accessible, and will meet the needs of the majority of companies around the world.

For example, Microsoft. Microsoft has been (and still is?) for many years present in the majority of companies. And when you opened your PowerPoint or Excel, you didn’t ask yourself if you needed a developer, code, or even low-code implementation.

Developers are not going to disappear

No worries... it is clear that we will always need code and therefore developers. However, not all companies will necessarily need in-house developers...

The code behind no-code

Yes, it’s a fact. Behind every "no-code" or "coding-free" application or software, there is: CODE!

With the advent of digital technology, there is and will always be an almost limitless demand for software programming. However, companies that develop their own business solutions are extremely dependent on their developers.

This creates silos and prevents these companies from making the most of the human resources they have.

Development of new tools

The competition among no-code tools is fierce.

The needs of businesses and the users of these tools evolve rapidly! For SaaS tool developers, it is essential to constantly enhance the interface of their platform or tool to outperform their competitors and avoid losing users.

The advantage of no-code for a business

The real advantage for a company in building its digital strategy based on no-code tools is to allow all its human resources to utilize the solutions. Yes, everyone, without needing to seek help from the "technical department" of the company, which may be on break, on vacation, or already too busy. In short, things progress more quickly.

No-code is the future for developers

Why is no-code the future?

Developers who manage to create a complete and accessible solution will see their solution become the tool that replaces the previous developer at that company.

How will no-code revolutionize the world?

If I had the answer.... I would be implementing it right now 😅

Conclusion

No-code will not replace developers because developers are needed to develop code-free tools. However, no-code might (will?) replace in-house developers in companies to accelerate project management for internal teams.

Example? A marketing team manages its website Webflow autonomously, without relying on the company's "devs."
