Full-time designer and art enthusiast in general, let me introduce myself: Pierre from the Digiteam.
Here are a few lines that I hope will help you learn more about me. Enjoy your reading!
1. A passion developed over time
1.1 First experience in journalism
There’s always the same lingering question: What to do after high school? (You have 4 hours)
Like many young people, I asked myself this question as well. Passionate about sports and art since I was little, I aspired to do something where I could live out this passion while sharing it with others. So, I sought to combine these two desires, and an idea for a profession emerged: journalism.
A project that was short-lived...
1.2 Changing paths to design
Motivated by the idea of turning my passion into a career, I joined a program in my first year that combined journalism and graphic design.
Throughout the year, I quickly realized one thing: journalism was not my calling; what truly drives me is design! By the end of the school year, I decided to transfer to a different school and enter directly into the second year of graphic design.
This decision turned out to be one of the best I could have made.
1.3 Specialization in UX / UI
After two years in graphic design, it was time to move on to a new stage: a master's degree.
What better for someone who loves design than to pursue a master's in digital design? That's exactly what I did; it was during this program that I discovered the tool Figma and fell in love with UX/UI (User Experience / User Interface). These two acronyms have different meanings but are completely complementary, leading me to my current position at Digidop.
An otherwise typical journey where I was able to find my path while specializing over the years.
2. A constant relationship with art & design
2.1 Inspiration in design
I have always enjoyed visiting the museum and attending exhibits, which helped me develop an artistic culture and references. This blend of information now serves as my inspiration. I also strive to keep an eye on the work of many designers daily, a step that is often overlooked but is essential for creating the best possible experience for a website.
2.2 Experience, the principle of Digicalidad
User experience is an integral part of current websites, just like design.
“There are three possible responses to any design: yes, no, and WOW! The third is the one I aim for.” Milton Glaser
The goal? To create that WOW! effect when someone arrives on a website. This desire to evoke an emotion in a person when they open a site crafted by the Digiteam drives me to excel and develop my creativity.
3. Constantly progressing in UX/UI and the Digital realm
3.1 Returning to my first loves
As you may have gathered from reading this bio, even though a large part focuses on design, writing is also a significant aspect of my work at Digidop. Having wanted to become a journalist a few years ago, this side allows me to write regularly, something I had lost touch with since diving into digital design.
3.2 Skills as a complement to design
Even though ideas and vision are essential, it is necessary to implement them. That’s why my goal is to become a Figma expert. Learning alongside the designers on the team will allow me to enhance my Figma skills and, over time, possibly become a respected and sought-after designer.
3.3 Evolving alongside a web agency
Learning alongside the designers on the team will help me develop my skills in Figma. But collaborating with web developers will provide me with a completely different background, that of a web developer. Having no prior development knowledge, this will be a great opportunity to learn a lot and avoid the frustrating aspect of creating mockups without being able to fully bring them to life by developing them on Webflow. Furthermore, I will be able to gain training in SEO and automation.
So, there are plenty of things to discover alongside the team!
Everything is in place for us to have a great time with motivated and inspiring people!!
It’s up to us to write a beautiful story, the story of Digidop...
