Contextualization of the DigiStore
Digidop is much more than just a simple Webflow agency! We don’t just focus on developing projects for our clients; we also strive to push our limits to create increasingly innovative products, services, and platforms.
You’ve probably seen it before, but with this project, we have launched the first 100% online store digicalidad!
What is the DigiStore?
The DigiStore is an e-commerce platform created on Webflow by Digidop to showcase and sell products (T-shirts, mugs, stickers, etc.) themed around No-Code, Design, and web development.
The Purpose of the DigiStore
The goal was to leverage the amazing tool that is Webflow to create a fully customized online store (with almost no design limitations) to highlight products that designers, developers, digital nomads, and many others might wear or use every day. It also allows us to demonstrate a small portion of what can be achieved with a Webflow e-commerce plan.
Design Phase of Our Store and Merch on Figma
After defining what we wanted to achieve and contemplating how to get there, we moved to one of the concrete phases of the project: prototyping on Figma and creating the products.
Merchandising Creation
All members of the Digiteam brainstormed to propose product ideas that could be interesting to offer in our Store through collections that will be released over the coming months.
Pierre was the project manager for this entire part and crafted some truly delightful products.
UX/UI Mockup Development
During this same period, Pierre also presented us with a unique universe for the DigiStore, incorporating the fundamentals (graphic charter, logo, etc.) of Digidop while differentiating it to provide a truly unique e-commerce experience.
This e-commerce site has been designed to break away from the beaten path of "classic" Shopify online stores, offering a unique design that sets it apart. Even though we haven't included every possible functionality that an e-commerce site could offer, the DigiStore stands out for its originality and design sensibility.
Development Phase in Webflow
Integration of the Figma E-commerce Mockup into Webflow
Webflow is a foundational tool designed for web designers. This allowed us to reproduce the mockup almost identically while adapting to the technical constraints of Webflow's e-commerce capabilities.
Indeed, Webflow is not a CMS designed explicitly for e-commerce as Shopify is. Its functionalities are still somewhat limited, but we can rely on our creativity and technical skills to create an effective store.
The development follows a Client-First philosophy and additionally utilizes Finsweet attributes and some custom code to enhance the user experience.
Integration of Products into the Store
Thanks to Webflow’s intuitive CMS, we were able to define optional fields (in addition to the mandatory ones) to fully customize our category and product pages in line with the Figma mockup. Incorporating new products via the CMS is quick and uncomplicated. We can customize each product variant, allowing anyone to find a product that suits them.
SEO Optimizations
We designed the store with organic search in mind and employed best practices to enhance our online visibility. Product listings are optimized, and we have also added structured data to attempt to achieve better visibility on search engines.
Payment via Stripe
For processing orders on the site, we opted to connect with Stripe. This tool allows us to receive payments made on the site and also to generate invoices for customers. The Webflow Stripe integration occurs directly within the tool after we've added the e-commerce functionality.
In conclusion, the DigiStore from Digidop represents our determination to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation. By using Webflow as a blank canvas, we created a unique online store that offers an exceptional shopping experience for enthusiasts of No-Code, Design, and web development.
