1. Context
- Industry: Tech
- Country: France
- Company type: SaaS
- Tools used: Figma, Webflow, and social media (YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram...)
2. Who is Weglot?
Weglot is a SaaS tool that enables any website to become multilingual through a "no-code" integration. The French startup, launched in 2016, now boasts over X users and generates X MRR.
Its solution is based on a "Plug & Play" principle, allowing any site administrator to translate, manage, and achieve international SEO results on their website.
3. Project Challenges with Digidop
- Acquisition of new users: Historically, the solution has been utilized mainly by integrators, with limited use among designers; hence, this challenge presents a new opportunity.
- Building a user base (Webflow Integrators): Although Webflow has recently released a Localization feature, Weglot remains a popular alternative to this native functionality. The update...
- Enhancing technical integration on Webflow: The method of integrating Weglot with Webflow has not evolved since 2020, while the tool and its practices have advanced considerably since then.
- Gaining media visibility: Taking advantage of Digidop's reach to enhance visibility among agencies and freelancers, users, or advocates of the solution.
A project, as you can see, with multiple challenges. However, since 2023, alongside the agency, we have been developing our own media focused on Web design. Two professions, with ideal synergies to meet the needs of our client, Weglot.
4. Strategy and Solutions
This collaboration aimed to unite existing users - developers and integrators - of the solution on Webflow by simplifying its integration method, while also influencing new advocates of translation solutions by reassuring them of Weglot's relevance, performance, and ease of integration into their projects.
To achieve this, we combined the creation of free "template" resources for the community, educational content in various formats, and widely distributed these resources through our social media, newsletters, and different web platforms.
1. Design and Development of "Templates" Resources
Our team designed 5 new "Language Switchers" components with original designs and a demo site showcasing these new components as well as their translation functions.
We then made these two files freely cloneable as "Templates."
2. Creation of Educational Content
A comprehensive blog article combined with two educational videos, one on Figma and one on Webflow, shared for free on Digidop's YouTube channel.
- Complete blog article (challenges, collaboration, how-to)
- Figma Video
- Video comparing multilingual options for Webflow sites in 2024
- How To Webflow Video
3. Evolution of JavaScript Integration
JavaScript code can complicate integration and thus the adoption of a solution. To enhance the Weglot integration on Webflow, we collaborated with their development teams to leverage our understanding of Webflow and its usage habits to create the simplest integration experience possible.
4. Media Distribution
- Social media: LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube
- Web platforms: Forum, Figma Community, Made in Webflow
- Newsletter: Distribution through Weglot's general Newsletter, Weglot Agency Newsletter, Digidop Newsletter
Results
- The project has uncovered positioning opportunities for Weglot.
- Quantitative results in 6 months.
