Key points
  1. Webflow’s Growth: The market share of Webflow has grown significantly from 0.2% in 2021 to 0.8% in 2025, highlighting increasing demand. The platform’s Expert network has also expanded from 500 to 1,500 certified partners.
  2. Changing Competitive Landscape: Due to the availability of free resources, AI tools, and low barriers to entry, the Webflow ecosystem has become more competitive. As a result, “development-only” providers now face the pressure to compete on speed and cost, which can be unsustainable in the long run.
  3. Key Lessons for Webflow Businesses:
  • Protect your reputation and maintain trust.
  • Clearly define your services based on your team’s strengths.
  • Create barriers to entry through expertise, content creation, and resources.
  • Start collaboration from the first interaction with clients.
  • Remember that relationships matter in the B2B sector.
  • Continuously invest in your website as a key asset.
  • Embrace the role of every actor in the Webflow ecosystem to support mutual growth.

3 years ago, being good at Webflow development was enough to sign deals and grow. Not anymore.

Today, high-demand has met high competition, fuelled by three factors:

  • Plenty of free resources available to learn Webflow
  • AI tools (like ChatGPT) help debug and integrate complex JavaScript logic if you have the basics of development skills
  • Low barriers to entry for agencies and freelancers

This has put “development-only” providers in a tough spot to stay profitable. Because, when the outcomes are perceived "as the same", clients will naturally ask:

  1. Who’s cheaper?
  2. Who’s faster?

Two volume-driven mechanics that, in my view, are unsustainable for building a healthy, long-term entrepreneurial path in our industry.

As of January 2025, our Webflow agency is entering its fourth consecutive year of growth. And in this article, I’ll share insights on the Webflow market in 2025 and outline seven key lessons we’ve learned that every Webflow business should consider.

1. Webflow: A Rapid Market Evolution

Over the past four years, Webflow’s market share has experienced remarkable growth. In 2021, Webflow held just 0.2% of the global web market share. Fast forward to 2025, and that number has grown to 0.8%, marking a 300% increase. This highlights the growing demand for Webflow’s design flexibility, performance, and scalability.

During this period, Webflow’s Expert platform has successfully bridged the gap between service providers and demand. From just 500 certified experts in 2021, the network has expanded to over 1,500 global certified partners by 2025 (+200%). While the number of certified partners has grown slower than the total number of Webflow websites, their capacity to build and manage multiple sites has significantly increased. Here’s why:

  • One Partner, Multiple Websites: A single Webflow Partner can build and manage multiple websites, far exceeding a one-to-one ratio of websites to experts. For demand to keep pace, the growth in Webflow websites must outstrip the growth in certified partners.
  • Platform Improvements: The Webflow platform itself has seen major enhancements, enabling faster and more efficient workflows with new features. This allows partners to deliver more projects in less time.
  • AI and Workflow Tools: Tools like AI and resources like Relume further accelerate processes, empowering agencies and freelancers to scale their output significantly.

As a result, the number of Webflow websites must grow by more than +300% vs. +200% to balance the efficiency and capacity of Webflow Partners, ensuring demand meets the increasing supply of services. And this analysis doesn’t even account for the influx of “Webflow experts” advertising themselves on freelance platforms like Fiverr or Malt, or others.

You’ve probably understood by now that Webflow remains a highly sought-after market, but it’s also one where competition is intensifying. It’s becoming increasingly challenging to secure a strong position, except for those who adapt and deliver a distinct added value to succeed.

2. Seven Webflow Lessons for Freelancers and Agencies

As Digidop enters its fourth consecutive year of growth, here are some key lessons we believe every Webflow business should consider in their strategy:

N°1: Protect your reputation at all costs

We all know the phrase, “Nobody ever got fired for choosing IBM.” Building that kind of trust takes time and consistent success, but it’s fragile.

Sometimes, it’s better to say no to a deal to preserve your reputation.

N°2: Craft your services clearly

Shape your offerings based on your market vision, strengths, and team.

For example, since day one, we’ve seen the web as a marketing tool for marketing teams. That’s why our designers focus not just on conversion but also on SEO and designing with CMS usability in mind—because the marketing teams are the real users of the website.

N°3: Create barriers to entry through expertise and reassurance

With three years of content creation under our belt, we’ve built trust by consistently sharing knowledge and delivering value through resources.

So basically, to “compete” with us, you now need to produce at least 500+ blog posts, 400+ YouTube videos, and more. This creates a much higher barrier to entry in a service provider industry where such barriers are typically quite low.

N°4: Your collaboration starts at the first call

Share freely and help as soon as you can!

Think of your collaboration with clients as a partnership on a common mission. And that mission begins from the very first exchange—even before any payment is made.

N°5: Buyers are humans

Even in B2B, people deal with humans. Never forget this. Relationships and genuine connections matter.

N°6: Always invest (more) in your Website

You only get one chance to make a good first impression—don’t miss it.

Your website is your most important asset. It represents you, your expertise, and much more when you’re selling websites. Treat your Website as your most important client at all times.

N°7: Every actor in the Webflow ecosystem has a role to play

If Webflow grows, we all grow.

Webflow is more than just a development tool—marketing expertise and a broader understanding of the market play a huge role in how clients perceive the value of the delivered build. Always build in a way that ensures a positive Webflow experience and continue promoting the tools. We will all benefit from it as Webflow grows in demand, users, and revenue.

In January 2025, Webflow remains a small part of the web, powering only 0.8% of it. But together, we have the opportunity to grow this market in a significant and qualitative way.

At Digidop, we have built an agency around Webflow, and we truly believe that 2025 is just the beginning.

This year, we will continue to:

  • Create content across all social media platforms, sharing our knowledge on a global scale.
  • Showcase more case studies highlighting the impact of Webflow for our clients.
  • Develop new types of resources, such as eBooks and guides, to share actionable strategic tips with the Webflow ecosystem.

So that, together, we can fuel the virtuous cycle of growth that Webflow offers.
