Second Intervention: Complete Technical Redesign of the Webflow Site
Following this successful first intervention, Club Patrimoine decided to entrust Digidop with the total technical redesign of its Webflow site. The primary goal was to replicate the site exactly while enhancing certain UX/UI aspects and integrating best development practices.
Redesign Objectives
- Improvement of UX/UI: Modernization of design for more intuitive navigation and better user experience.
- Optimized Performance: Development using the Client-First methodology and web best practices for a maintainable and high-performing site.
- Adherence to SEO Standards: Implementation of advanced techniques to ensure better rankings in search results.
Digidop's Tasks
Here's an overview of the main tasks performed during this engagement:
1. Redesign of Key Sections
We undertook the redesign of several strategic sections to enhance their design and functionality:
- Hero Header of the Homepage: We revised the UX of this section to highlight the H1, followed by the carousel of featured content.
- "Content" Page: Updated for clearer presentation of video and podcast content (with these elements featured prominently on the page).
- "Agenda" Page: Redesign for better visibility of upcoming and past events.
2. Technical and SEO Optimizations
To guarantee optimal performance, we carried out several technical and SEO optimizations:
- Webflow Optimizations: Improved the development structure for a faster and more efficient site in accordance with Google’s recommendations.
- Asset Compression: Compressed over 10,000 images in the CMS to WebP and AVIF formats.
- SEO Integrations: Integrated structured data, allowing for Alt Text, titles, and meta descriptions management for the content.
- Bandwidth Optimization: We reduced bandwidth consumption from 25GB (after our first intervention) per day to 5GB per day. Check out our full article to learn how to optimize bandwidth consumption for your Webflow project.
3. Complete Migration of the CMS from the Old Project to the New One
The CMS of the old Club Patrimoine project included a dozen collections and over 9000 items in total. There was a significant technical challenge in migrating all this data to the new project without errors.
We optimized the editing process in the new CMS and successfully imported all content from Club Patrimoine's CMS without data loss.
Moreover, the migration of over 4000 301 redirects was also successfully completed.
4. Training on Webflow Editing
In addition to technical interventions, we provide personalized strategic support:
- Advice on Page Design: Assistance in strategic thinking for optimal content organization.
- Webflow Training: Training sessions to enable the Club Patrimoine team to manage the site independently.
5. Support for Future Tasks
After these two interventions, our collaboration with the Club Patrimoine team does not end. The goal is to continue improving the website by adding new pages and revisiting the structure and design of existing ones.
Thus, we continue to work on specific needs for this dynamic project.
Results and Benefits
Thanks to our ongoing intervention and continuous optimizations, Club Patrimoine's Webflow site has become:
- More Efficient: Reduced loading times: +30 points in Google Lighthouse performance gained
- Better Ranked: Notable increase in organic traffic due to SEO optimizations.
- More Attractive: A modernized design and smooth navigation for an enhanced user experience.
Our collaboration with Club Patrimoine aims to maximize visitor engagement and enhance the online presence of the media outlet, while ensuring effective maintenance and continuous improvement of the site.
