Key points

Last week, I had the honor of being the 'guest at Finsweet Live's Community Day!

Alongside Joe Krug, we discussed:

  • The language barrier in the no-code universe;
  • Growth & Content Strategy,
  • Learning curve on Webflow,
  • Building a community.

A detailed (and behind-the-scenes) recap of a life experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.

How is a stream organized with Finsweet Live?

Everything runs smoothly!

Behind the scenes, Victoria Perez and Gabriel do an incredible job of making the experience seamless. They are available and support you with the right energy!

Step 1: Stream Questions

Three weeks before the live event, I received a Notion document with a plan and some questions to prepare for the stream. Well, in my case, we didn't follow the plan at all, but this documentation remains a useful exercise for preparation.

Step 2: Technical Preparation

One day before → a 30-minute call with Gabriel and Victoria. The goal of this call is to technically prepare for the stream the following day. During this call, I met Gabriel, the video editor from the Finsweet team. He tested my microphone and camera, and then explained the technical flow of the stream: screen sharing, visibility of live comments, etc...

This step is important because it provides reassurance. I was also able to take this time to ask my questions.

If you're interested...: for recording the stream, Finsweet Live uses the Ecamm tool. It's a fantastic tool that allows you access to the live chat on YouTube.

Step 3: The Live Event

3, 2, 1....

How did my live session go?

...Action!

I was excited to experience this. It was my first time doing this, and on top of that, in English. But what an opportunity for Digidop to share our vision and ambitions.

Thirty minutes before the stream started, I joined a call with Victoria and Gab to retest my setup. (Learn more about my Webflow developer setup in this article)

Then.... Action 🎬 Here we go for a one-hour live session with Joe Krug, founder of the Webflow agency Finsweet.

To frame the stream, Joe had the FigJam document that I had shared with him, which included the plan and questions for the stream. But after the first question... nothing went as planned!

We completely deviated from the initial plan to allow for an honest and passionate exchange on:

  • The language barrier in learning Webflow and Client-First,
  • The story of Digidop,
  • Growth, content strategy, and community building.

And some anecdotes about our respective experiences as Webflow developers (and our first Webflow sites)!

As a bonus, we had an engaged audience, whose questions made the show lively!

My thoughts on the experience

I loved the experience.

It's a really cool exercise that allows for open exchanges and sharing a wealth of values/experiences with the no-code community on various topics:

  • Business,
  • Learning,
  • Mindset,
  • Code and no-code.

And it even sparked an idea 💡

What if we discussed Webflow, business, and no-code in French?

From your messages, it seems you enjoyed the format and the discussion I had with Joe! Thank you! However, the language barrier is indeed present... The interview is in English.

But this experience inspired me with an idea! What if we created a podcast about Webflow, in French, in the coming months? Would that interest you?
