Webflow is a "website builder," a platform that helps you create, edit, and manage websites from a visual interface. It serves as an alternative to WordPress, Wix, or Shopify.
After more than a year of using this no-code tool, I present to you my stack of tools that, in my opinion, are the best tools to use for a web developer in 2022.
Essential tools for a Webflow developer
Webflow: No-code website
This goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway. Webflow is the no-code creation tool that allows you to build responsive and high-performing websites, which can be managed directly by your clients from the editor mode.
Figma: Mockup & Design (UX/UI)
Figma is a more collaborative alternative to Sketch and Adobe XD. It allows you to visualize and interact with the UX/UI layout of a website mockup in development. With designer notes, dedicated style guide pages, and branding guidelines, mastering Figma will enable you to quickly understand the layout and recreate it pixel by pixel in Webflow's design tool.
Loom: Video Recording
Loom is a Chrome extension that allows you to easily record and share videos of your screen, webcam, or both. It's faster than typing an email or setting up a meeting on Zoom or Google Meet.
This tool is very useful for instance for:
- Presenting the website upon project delivery
- Creating tutorials or videos for your YouTube channel
- Requesting feedback quickly and visually
ILOVEIMG: Compress JPG, PNG, SVG, or GIF
Compress the visuals of your site with ILOVEIMG (images, icons, or GIFs) for a website that loads quickly.
Finsweet Attributes: Webflow extension
The Finsweet Attributes are a library (Jquery) that allows you to unlock new features for Webflow collections.
- Filtering
- Slider Collection
- Nested Collection
- Etc...
This product is one of the most well-known from the Webflow expert agency Finsweet and is 100% free.
Weglot: Multilingual site
Weglot allows you to make your site multilingual, optimized for international SEO, in less than 10 minutes. A fantastic "Webflow Plugin." (promo code -20%: DIGIGLOT)
Bootstrap: Free Icons
Bootstrap is a platform for icons in SVG, HTML, CSS, JS formats for websites and web applications. This type of format allows you to customize your icons and animate them within your website.
